Wow, usually see these with a skull applied on with a rivet. This does look like a fine original..Don't think the time period is correct,,probably early WW2...A nice one..,G.

This link still works! ,, It shows the famous 'Rivet Skull',,,but the one without the rivet!! Both were produced during the 3rd reich era, rivet and non.. Same type skull and usually the hand embellishment!.. - Both fine rivet and non...........

Is it possible that the rivet hole on the back of the cartouche was filled in, maybe with solder, smoothed and then coated? I have a similar ring which was posted here previously. yeah not a problem. We know that there were both,,rivets seen,,some you couldn't see. . Everything else the same,,same skull, embellishment, wash/plating etc.. Both great rings to have in your collection..
