Reddick Publishing has finally released the long-anticipated collaboration between Tom Kibler and Bob Iqbal. "Combat Helmets of the Third Reich Vol. II" presents 31 never previously published combat helmets of the Army and Luftwaffe through a series of 307 highly-detailed full-color photographs of common, rare and exotic steel helmets supplied to Third Reich Germany's Wehrmacht. Characteristics specific to the individual makers are demonstrated along with examples of non-standard reissues. Camos, covers, nets and wires, of course, are also included. A 16-page gallery presents 63 decals which display the many subtle variations of insignia typically associated with specific manufacturers. The very important details such as chinstrap markings, liner details and shell stampings are also demonstrated to aid in the recognition of what should be expected in a 'proper' Third Reich combat helmet. Many of our own Forum members gratiously contributed photos of their world-class items to help make this book well worth the wait.

My copy is already on order - can't wait to see it. Smile

Many thanks to Tom Kibler and Bob Iqbal for their hard work and sacrifice to bring us this much-needed reference. Great work, guys.

I was lucky enough to get a look at a copy this afternoon. It has some great helmet examples as well as great decal examples. We'll all be reaching for this book as we continue to collect. Given the price versus the amount of reference material, it will soon be the book of choice for the new collector as well....Tom.

I picked up two copies of Tom and Bob's new book...one for me and the other for a friend of mine who was unable to attend. It is a great book and fills a void out there which will be much appreciated by collectors. Want to know which style of decal should go on your Heer or Luft helmet?? The answer's inside.

PS - thanks, Tom, for your hand-dedication of my copy of the book to me.

Cheers,

Darryl

Darryl -

Thank you for the kind words! Thanks to all of you who gave me a fair, objective remarks at the SOS.

I made certain to thank this forum, as all of you helped in many ways to make this possible. I'll always claim that I'm NEVER an "expert" - as I learn things every day... Even with Heer decals, right Larry? (Thanks)

Tom's new book is a very good reference and worth the investment. I did possess one for a few hours at the show and had it re-possessed. Wink.
I'm not worried because I am one of Tom's shipping agents.
Great work Tom!

Just received both volumes. Very nice references! The SS helm on page 62-63 of vol. one, is this a good one?

Hi Martin!
To make a long story short, NO, that is not a good helmet. It was a honest mistake at the time and there are no mistakes in Vol II.
Best Wishes,
Bob

Finally got my copy today.
A great reference-book with great pics .

Also nice to see the named DD helmet of KC-winner Sachenbacher (I wish I decided prompt at that time I saw it for the first time, instead of looking several times in my wallet Mad)

Already enjoying the moments I read this textbook.

I just got mine. First Kibler book. What a pleasantly depicted referance manual. This is definately the antidote against buying many fakes. Helmet maker by helmet maker. Decal by decal...and much, much more. Nice artwork too. Additionally, the publisher included a cataloge of metals and clothing items (reproduction) so if I ever wonder what I'm looking at, I can referance the cataloge and get the title of the piece. Or even, order one.
