What I can see from these not too good pics is a 1st Mod. RLB dagger for NCOs and lower grades. A special investigation has to be made on the grip badge (does it wiggle - please test CAREFULLY not to break away the badge!; are there any traces of clue around?) and the crossguard (detailed and much better pics would help). What material are the fittings, including the scabbard fitting? For a true 1st Mod. I think the fittings should be nickle silver. Those on this dagger (but it might be the pics) seem to be pot metal nickled or at least a mixture of pure nickle and pot metal parts. If this is the case it would be something I would not expect to see on a true 1st Mod. Also the crossguard eagle is the type commonly seen on WITTE, WEYERSBERG and unmarked pieces, WKC "normally" (there is NO 100% rule) used a crossguard with a distinct eagle´s head. Better pics (or at the best an in hand inspection by an advanced collector) would help.

"Never look for sqare eggs" as a late owner of an original FHH-dagger used to say.
