The tang suggests that it was not early production as they have tangs with a taper. The other attributes say it is not a very late production dagger as they usually have inferior materials that can be spotted.

Hanger and Dagger have been together because they both have the same initials and I think the portapee has always been with it also

Think Dave is right. Not very late nor early as it utilizes what looks to be Generic fittings and finish is pretty nice.
The stepped tang has a hole drilled where they hung the blade as it was being plated.
You can see the markings (astericks) made at the sides of the scabbard bands that were used to cover the casting flaws of the bands. A KLAAS method for sure.
Stampings on end of grip, I believe to be markings that would have been found on the end of the grip stock material used in the manufacturing of the grips. We see those numbers and letters from time to time on other makers grips.
If I had to make a guess as to the date, I'd say somewhere around 1938. NICE dagger. Denny

One thing I think is strange is the hanger has a gold wash but the buckles have a silver plate.

Its nice probably mid period, it has the standard trilon grip, with I believe the earlier klaas crossguard on it, so I am think it is probably the mid period but there are some more knowledgable army collectors that may key in. I am more into the political daggers myself, I maybe wrong so take what I say on these armies with a grain of salt, I do know its real the rest is based on the materal types used and the grip style which is not the eariest style slant grip.
