Although not a model, I figured that someone may be interested in how I haul my Tiger from battle to battle. Although fully r/c equipped, it is still a plastic model and prone to being broken.

I tried bying a few plastic containers but was never satisfied with the "insulation" that I was able to put around it to prevent it from moving from side to side and back to front. The 88mm canon is especially vulnerable.

So, once more, necessity being the mother of invention, I built my own carrying case - that looks strangely like a big tool box. Big Grin

The bottom of the case has wooden inserts that fit inside the width of the tracks to stop it from moving sideways and to a certain extent, forwards and back. The handle is removeable.

In addition, there is room for my charger (under the transmitter), 2 sets of spare batteries and my transmitter. The strings that you see at the front and back of the Tiger are attached to a piece of plywood under it to remove it and insert it into the case without breaking something with my hands.

Excellent work Bud, or maybe I need to start callin’ you Vern! Know what I mean? Wink

Nice job, really like the pull cord idea. Now maybe something in a camo finish. Roll Eyes

Nice job Bernie, do you have any ideas for a shipping case to allow one of them to be shipped to another member for painting, or back when it's done? I'm needin' one.

Mark,

I suggest you "double box" it. That means pack it well inside a box then pack that box in another larger box with more padding between the inner and outer boxes. That's what I did to send my Tiger out for painting and nothing got broken.

Camo finish eh Rick???

I thought of that and it would be pretty neat. But although I'm pretty good with my hands when it comes to buiding stuff to include models, I'm a complete failure when it comes to painting. I don't have an artistic bone in my body. Wish I did... Roll Eyes
