Guys, I'm trying to nail down the period this knife was made,am open to idea's, my thoughts were mid to late Weimar, I'm not sure if they used this mark earlier or later.

Nice and interesting saufanger you have there! I would agree that it is prewar,dont see to many with the metal tip after ww2. Dont see many with the fixed guard like that either.Very nice! Wink P.S. see your other post on unknown leather accoutraments,I had a question for you! Kevin.

This is model Nr. 2651 H H (Hirsch Horn) 20cm blade as listed in the 1920's Friedr. Herder Abr. Sohn catalog in my collection. Note that the sheath is different from the one pictured. I have no information on the years of manufacture.

Gary this trademark was registered in 1895, i think your pretty spot on dating it mid 20ths.

Here is Nr. 2651 listed in a 1930's catalog (Dutch) and sheath is similar to the example pictured. This company ceased trading in the 1990's (J. Anthony Carter). The sheaths and quality of the product may be the clue as to years of production.
