Since I am now collecting Russian militaria (although this topic could include German as well) I would like to have to have at least one F1 inert grenade to put in my display. There is a member on another site that shows his F1s and says he sells some on occasion. He is here in the US as well as myself and was wondering if there are any problems with shipping an item like this through regular carriers like UPS, Etc. You see a ton of US Pineapple, Baseball, & Lemon inerts on Ebay all the time so I would not think it would be a problem but the way things are today you just do not know so any help on this would be appreciated. I certainly would not inquire about this if I thought that it has any chance of being illegal and I could get in any trouble over it. If so I think I would just get a wooden dummy but I really want a nice inert F1 for the display. Thanks

I shipped a dewat grenade up to CANADA from MANIONS last year and it was stopped cold at the border and was very lucky to get the agent to do a return to sender. I think anything the goes by air and is scanned will get picked up and cause a big problem possibly coming back on the shipper. Although lots of this material is shipped there are many occurances of airports being evacutaed or customs buildings same due to this. My policy now is if I can't get it local then I don't buy to much hassle these days.
