Gents, I need your help with a small Hinomaru Yosegaki flag, and a Sennin-bari. I bought both these items from the same person, but I'm not sure whether the items are related to each other or not. I'm now questioning the authenticity of both, as it has been pointed out that some of the kanji on the flag look poorly written, infact, some of it looks like scribbling to my un-trained eye. I hope some of the experienced kanji readers here will tell me whether this kanji is, or looks correct or not for a period item.
The seller told me the flag contains the following names, amongst others: Omori shop member, Kumada Tatsuo, Fujita Shinji, Sasaki Akira.
Flag is 16 inches by 13 inches.
The Sennin-bari is approximately 41 inches by 13 inches. Some of the kanji are faint mirror images as it appears the item was folded horizontally before the writing had dried.
I'm told the kanji says: To: Itou Younosuke
From: Japanese national defense women's association
Akita Prefecture Fujiki-village the seventh group
Inoru Buun chokyu: Prayer Good luck to you on the battlefield
Any help with determining authenticity would be greatly appreciated. Several images follow.
