Hi guys, I picked this portapee up over the weekend. Is it zoll or polizei? Were zoll portapees tied in the police manner or Heer fashion? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks & best regards, Len

Hi Len,
Very nice looking knot you have there. While the bulb is similar to the polizei knot, I don't think it is polizei as the strap is different. I'm thinking it's either a Zoll knot or a Prison Official's knot. The last Prison knot I saw, think it was Houston's for sale here on GD, had a cloth strap with cloth thread and yours looks like it's got a leather strap with metallic threads. Nice piece either way.

Land Customs Officer grade knot. Lower ranks have a plain black strap. Prison is green and gold. I don't know what the correct "tie" was like for the bayonet. For the sword-I suspect the Heer manner.
