Looks like an Exc+ Klaas. Some scratching to the blade. Typical Klaas grip and runes with some chipping at the crossguards. Nice blued scabbard. Stamped group mark I which most are but it's unusual to see the stamp sideways.

That would not be a problem for me. I have seen both II and III stamped sideways.

on his "me" page, he has lakesidetrader on his favorite links, his sa looks nice as well, has rzm stamp to left followed by code itself on right.

Not bad. Notice he (the seller) sells Simichrome and a metal polishing "eraser" in his Ebay store. I wonder if the blade was worked on some....

It may be the photos but the blade finish does not look right. Be sure to get better pictures.

Probably polished up quite a bit, but it is still a Klaas, and the scabbard and grip look decent. That is NOT original cross grain in that picture. I wonder why the blade is so scratched up? All in all, I would say that $1750 would be a fair high-point for this one (if all is found to be original). I bet it will go much higher, knowing the Ebay bidders lately though!
