I have an NSKK dagger with F Dick stamped longwise on one side of the blade. All the pictures I see of this kind of dagger show the Alles fur Deutchland on the same side of the dagger as the emblem on the handle. My dagger has the Alles fur Deutchland engraving on the same side as the bare wood side of the handle.
Can anyone explain this?

Toss it away its a known fake  The dagger has been taken apart and reassembled incorrectly. Simply disassemble the dagger and switch the blade around so that the 'Alles fur Deutschland' motto is on the same side as the grip emblem.

Bill_P, welcome to the forum. What you have is a good example of Adolph's corolary to Murphy's Law. It states that if a doofus disassembles an SA dagger he WILL reassemble it with the blade bass ackwards. Corrective measures are simple. Use a proper tool to remove the pommel nut and reassemble the right way. You're good to go and your dagger will thank you.

Thank you guys. A simple solution that I probably would never have figured out :-)
My father, who was in the 101st Airborne, found this dagger in a fountain in Germany after D-Day.

Hello Bill_P, welcome to the forum.
I hope you will not be scared away (which for sure wasn�t their intention) by some jokes of oldtimers in the community! Please post some pics of your dagger, we would like to see it (the blade either the wrong or the right way)!
Please be careful when you try to turn around the blade. The pommel screw or the top crossguard easily can be damaged by improper tools and a damaged dagger dramatically looses worth.
