Paul,
Thank you for the kind compliments! I very much appreciate them. You have some great items as well!
Mike,
Lets see that tunic.
Doug,
Thank you for sharing that beautiful waffenrock! I really like seeing the Reserve Officer's tunics.
Regards Paul

Paul, I seem to have a problem uploading a picture. I checked my personal permissions and there is no "green check mark" by "photo albums", is that why or do I just need to get my 1 yr old to do it for me. thanks, Mike.

All very nice gentlemen! They look beautiful. I`ve been looking at tunics for a long time but have yet to take the plunge. All in good time I suppose. We can`t have it all...unfortunately

Thanks Paul I'm not sure if I've posted this one before somewhere, but it is appropriate for this thread. It is a converted Waffenrock for normal wear, presumably post-1939.Blue piped for medical, and you can still see the seam round the middle. Similar to the one in Curley and Stewart's book, p.31.

I think that the photo for the arty tunic is the recruiter reposted?
I think that the reserve insignia is the sharpest!! I like the double underlay on the shoulder boards!

Here is my newest... Named to a famous unit destroyed at Stalingrad. There is a strong chance that this person's photo can be found in the MIA books(i unless he was one of the 36 who escaped!)

Really nice ! That would also be pretty great, if you could find a picture of the actual owner of this tunic.

Lovely Mountain green! I recently picked up a Signals Der Spiess, surprisingly with no medal/award loops.

Glad to see this topic -- and here are a few from my own collection. I was a Luftwaffe collector for many years but started selling the collection almost three years ago for personal reasons. I then resumed collecting about a year ago and decided to concentrate on Waffenrocks and the associated headgear, pants, badges, and accessories. It has been very rewarding. Feel free to contact me if you wish to sell anything --- some wonderful examples of this thread.
Incidentally, this first Waffenrock is named to a Hauptmann Heinz Casper. I just received a file on the officer from Bob Ruzzier, who does research at NARA which takes us up to 1944. He was first assigned, as a new Leutnant, to the test/experimental ordinance and weapons facility at Hillersleben. This is what makes our hobby so much fun -- it's just not the cloth and metal.
All the best for 2008!
Mike Heuer
