Hi TonyC,The C D Schaaff logo's I have posted are correct,the first one is from the Ref.libary
http://www.germandaggers.com/makermarkimages/schaaff180.jpg

and the second one is off an SA dagger I have.
But I do'nt know if the HJ is a fake or not, regards nats

Hi Nat,
Seems there are variations in the logo between the HJ and the SA dagger. I wonder if that holds true for the HJ knives?

By the way, what was the reason for your original post?
Tony

Hi TonyC,I do not know enough about HJ's to comment on the difference between maker marks on SA's and HJ's,But the rzm codes are a different design between Sa and HJ.
I'am sure someone else will answer your question.
The reason I posted the auction,is C D Schaaff is a rare maker,I did not think it was a fake and someone on the forum might have been interested in it.regards nats

Nat,
The reason I asked was because I have an HJ knife marked like the one in the original post. So I was curious to see anyone had an issues with this maker.
Thanks
Tony

This post turned into a bit of an investigation for me as I noticed that the original SCHAAFF makers mark on the HJ at the start of this post did not exactly match any that I had seen before or any that are returned in the search function of this site. I have shown below listed marks available from the reference gallery / HJ / SA and an army dagger and it seems that the maker marks varied dependant on the item. The good thing is that both HJ's listed above have the same TM. I have circled the 2 areas that display the biggest differences.
