Hello Ed,
Thanks for your comments.
I agree GDC was once the finest forum of militaria but now not so good. Not only the forum but collecting became a very dangerous field and, in my opiniom very decadent. I am not buying anymore. Still, like you very well said, I would love to have a couple of those batons in my collection. Hermann Historica offers some from time to time. Top quality repros really. I have seen once an impressive repro of Hermann G´┐Żring service baton.
Follow this link, you´┐Żll find some nice pictures of repro batons I posted there.

Aylson,

Thanks for sharing this detail with us. I found it a fascinating story. Did Mr Hart ever follow up regarding the baton?

Hello David,
Thanks for your comments.
I spoke on the phone with Mr. Hart may be 3 times and since his last call to me I´┐Żve never heard from him again. I sent e-mails but no answer. I tried to phone him but an automatic message, probably from the phone company, tells that this number was disconnected.
An advanced collector, member to this forum, emailed me telling that the story of that baton is famous in Savannah, GA, and that this baton exchanged hands may be several times. He spoke to a gentlemen that OWNED this batom long before Mr. Paul Blatner !! He is a dealer in antiquity in Savannah today.
Makes perfect sense to me.
Always nice hearing from you David.
Best Regards,

Dear Sir,
It´┐Żs been a long time but as I promised you, here is the full story about D´┐Żnitz baton.
It´┐Żs the result of an almost three years of research and investigation. The link I will provide you bellow will take you to the GDC forum where I recently posted the story.
I FULLY authorize you to post in your webpage the full story as you see at the forum. To see the pictures you will have to register to the forum but, if you like, to avoid this, I can send them all to you by an e-mail. Please let me know.
