first instinct?, fantasy piece, put together by someone with a vivid imagination. it all looks too `rough`. i can`t imagine eickhorn putting their name to a rough box like that. the daggers don`t look like they belong together. surely there would be a plaque or inscribed plate somewhere. wouldn`t the daggers have trademarks?. i could go on, but you get the idea. regards, steve.

I can't state as to the correctness of the daggers although I do find them interesting indeed. Someone posted a similar Celtic type dagger with ivory pommel several months ago, I think it was purchased for 750 Euros. The dagger very closely resembled daggers made in the early 1930s when Himmler was doing research on the possible Celtic connections to the Aryans.

The fact that I find very difficult to believe is that this type of rustic box was used as a presentation case for something allegedly given to Himmler? That I find the hardest to believe.

Items with a strange or unusual provenance like these are aways interesting to watch as the various market forces come into play at an auction.
I am somewhat surprised that more interest hasn't been shown in the second(single)dagger with as obvious a profile as it exhibits. I for one would be interested in what it looks like disassembled!
