Hi Guys,

Just wanted to share these images of the Infantry Assault Badge medaul, urkunde and photos of Hauptmann Franz Xaver Cipa, which I have been buying over a couple of months from his daughter in law in Germany. Just love this group which facilitates a ton of research fun.

Lebenslauf des Soldaten zwischen 1936 und 1945:

1936/37 = II. IR 64 = Soldat

1937 = 5. IR. 60 = Rekrutengefreiter, Offz. Anwrter

1938 = 5. Komp. IR/64 = Feldw. (o.A.)

1940 = 292. Infanterie-Division, Infanterie Regiment 507
Frankreichfeldzug: Aisne-Kanal, Ostel, Rethel, Chemin des Dames = Leutnant, Zugfhrer, Batl. Offizier, Batl. Adjudant

1941/42 Fronteinsatz
Polenfeldzug: Jelnja-Bogen, Rulandfeldzug: Bug, sdl. Moskau, Minsk = Komp.-Chef

1943/44 - Verwundung: Ers.-Btl. Belgard, Pommern = Hauptmann, Komp.-Chef, Kommando zur Vertretung des Div.-Adjudanten bei der Ers. Div. 2 Stettin

1944/45 = 59. Inf.-Div. Westen = I, Battalionsfhrer

1945 = Kriegsgefangenschaft

Thanks guys

Frau Cipa also includednin my package a CD with about 400 scanned photos of Hptm Cipa and his unit in the various campaigns in France, Poland and the Soviet Union. What I love the most about this is that you have here a complete pictorial history of this officer, first in an early SA uniform, then RAD, then NCO, then Leutnant, Oberleutnant, and hauptmann towards the end of the war. Just awesome

Gustavo, those are all interesting photos. I appreciate your sharing them. You might want to consider placing your name across any future images you share, in a strategic location so ownership can not be claimed for a differing agenda.

Congratulations on an excellent grouping. The snow scenes look very "cold". I enjoyed seeing the DRA sports badge in wear.

Regards,--dj--Joe
