Any opinions on this SS helmet will be appreciated. Sorry for the bad pictures. They were taken inside the store with not much lighting. Thanks, starky

Some writing in helmet. Probably from previous owner.

From first glance, the paint looks like it has liver spots. Decal appears to have the only scratches and appears to have been sandpapered. Decal wear doesnt match the helmet. Also there is a scratch top left that seems to disappear under the decal. And the decal to me appears to be a poor repro of an NS. Would be ultra rare to have a helmet attributed to a 3 SS Tk Oberscharfuhrer. Not many survived the war, most were executed by the Russians at wars end, the ones that survived to surrender. IMO from pics provided no good. What is shell maker and anyway of getting outside shots of this helmet?

I'm with SStk on this one. I think the decal is a repro and the helmet seems to have a number of other issues. Perhaps a more knowledgeable collector like Darryl will chime in on this. However, we all have to learn to be better at picking these out ourselves. We cannot forever rely on the expertise of others, though we much appreciate their help and guidance. Cheers, Mike

I would agree completely...the helmet is bad; bad decal and bad name attribution in the rear skirt.

decal's a standard repro, liner also looks bad, & the name etc looks like it was applied using a corrector pen.avoid! Bill
