Louie, I have seen this before, someone selling thier gold early member pins on ebay. It is owned by the seller I assume and either he may have stopped collecting or just wants to raise some cash. It would be easy I think for Vern or Dave to look up who the seller is. Sometimes it may be a member who is simply mad at GDC. I don't think they ever went for $200 tho. Who knows? Mark

Actually, his bringing up the price over $200 is totally despicable. The auction of the badge of our member "lugers" was held on ebay as a way to raise money for his widow. The bidding was artificially high to achieve that end. We also have the firearms forum here named for him.
To use the auction of Barry's badge as a selling tool is beneath contempt in my opinion. I welcome the seller to come on and explain his/her self. IMHO
Jim

Well, it still bothers me! Now even more! I am going to bid on it with the express purpose of returning it to the GDC Powers That Be. So, if you see this, Just don't bid against me!

I have not contacted the seller, but, looking at his postings, it may be that he is an innocent 3rd party, maybe he bought it somewhere else.

Never mind! I looked at his feedback and there are a couple of daggers there.

I agree with Jim / Marks comments.... I wish i had bought a gold membership pin when i first joined... (about $20-30 if i recall) when i finally decided to get one they had gone.. what if someone bought it and donated something to the forum ?? Sort of recycling the badge really ... I'd buy it ...but not to gatecrash a party

$200? I don't think they go for that much, but if they did, I personally, as founder, don't have a problem with it. Incidentally, when I made the badges, I gave Vern the un-numbered prototype, which I believe he still has. I still have 0001, which I cherish and would not sell.
