The engraving Naples 1944 is a statement you cant overlook. I like the details of the engraving. Its done very well and deep . As far as I know, a ring like this was sold to the soldiers by Italian people. I was in Italy in the seventies and eighties many times in the province of Umbria (a bit north of Rome)however my interest then was on the old Etruscians, Greek and Romans.

Benten,,thats one of the better ones I've seen! I've always wondered how they managed to plate these rings. I had asked a vet once and he said if you had more than a day in one spot you could usually find a local or another service man that new where to get them but had no idea how they were made up!...
My Uncles, on the plain side. Looks easy enough to make,,but that plating!?

Mikee, thanks for your kind reply. And a Happy Hunting wish, I appreciate it .
Gaspare , if I understand you correctif you have some chemical ingredients ; the most simple way of plating could be by a chemical nickel bath imo. I red that it is also possible to do it yourselves in the galvanic, electro, way with chemical ingredients and the use of a battery. Thanks for your picture. The plating on your ring is done better as on mine.
