Can you try again with your pictures? It looks interesting. Are there screw holes in the scabbard for the lower fitting?

Don't know what's going on. I have 12 photos in My Documents of the Dagger. After I hit "Add Attachment", I click the "Browse". With that, the 12 files pop up. It only lets me put one file in the "Send". How do I send all 12 in one shot. First time I ever had that kind of trouble sending photos. Thought maybe if I held down on "CTRL" key while clicking each file that might work but skunked again. These were photos I downloaded from Picasa 3.

Thanks for the tip on downloading pics. That one had me going. Will post the others in the near future. And yes, there are holes at the bottom of the scabbard for the ball. Not ever having one of these things before, when I first saw it, I assumed the holes were for water drainage. Wasn't until I did some homework that I saw what the holes were for.

There is "Fr" stamped on the cross guard. Can't see it clearly on the photos but it is clearly stamped on the piece. Can't figure out why that piece would be missing....perhaps to make it fit into the metal box I found it in. It was sitting diagonally at the bottom of the box. Perhaps if I had emptied the box completely, I might have came up with it. Too late now.

You can probably get a lower scabbard fitting from Ray Krans at [email protected] Matching the patina and holes is the tricky part....
