hi all,,i have a ww II carbine mag marked on the back "SQ but lined through 4 times" and below that SP-SG..any carb collectors here that can help me out would be appreciated,,,thanks,,Robert

Should be the magazine for a Saginaw Gear made M1 carbine. Magazine was made by Seymour Products Company.

SQ was one of the marking for the Quality Hardware M1 carbine magazines, I would suspect that the production run of bases for the Quality Hardware magazine was completed, and the remaining bases were marked for the Saginaw productuion run. Just a guess on my part.
