EICKHORN seems to be the most desired name in the collecting field of German Daggers and Swords. This group of Dress Bayonets will show the long and short models with the different type of grips I have found on them so far. When you are collecting there will be differences on the cross guards, pommels, grips, size of blades, different grooves in blades, rivets, manufacture imprints and many other details that will keep your mind busy on what you might be purchasing. I hope this collection will show what a nice hobby it is to collect plain blade bayonets.
Please add your EICKHORN Dress Bayonet photos to this post if you have some with different features from those shown. This could be a great help to EICKHORN dress bayonet collectors. All opinions are also appreciated.
Thank you for looking. Sincerely, HUBERTUS

Photo 10. You might check the blade spins. You never know what you will find. I am sorry about the mix up on the photos and the numbers. I think I got a hold of some bad ice or Jack Daniels.

Ralph
I also have a Eickhorn fake stag bayonet. I will post a picture when my camera battery is recharged. My fake stag also has the 1941 Eickhorn TM like the two you have.
So the big question is, have we seen fake stag on the earlier Eickhorn TMs???????????
I also have two bayonets with etched spines, but neither are Eickhorns.

Ralph, Another great thread, and great pieces all. I had hoped dress bayonets were safe from your reach but I see I was mistaken A short sawback with the '33-'34 trademark. There's no stag in it but it's still one of my favorites.

Not tmuch to say about this except its a short Drees bayonet with an early TM. I pulled the leather buffer back so you could see the TM. Ralph Thanks for showing your Eickhorns Tkissinger

Hubertus,
A very good idea to post Eickhorn KS98 variations. Some nice examples shown by everyone.
Here is one that is not often seen. The all steel KS98. These are typically more massive than the plated KS98 and are polished steel throughout. The blade is 26cm instead of 25cm and bear early and later Eickhorn markings. They have hard rubber grips instead of plastic and some have T/O slots and some have T slots in the pommel. Here is one with the earlier Eickhorn markings.

The overall view of one of these bayonets. These have blued steel scabbards instead of painted ones and they are larger than the standard KS98 scabbard. They also affix to the rifle. This one is an item of issue with a T slot and the later squirrel with sword trademark.
I believe these to be police issue.

One more example. This one also has the later squirrel with a sword trademark and is made like the others with the exception of the hilt. The hilt on these is made without either a press button or a slot for a bayonet lug. The solid pommel is one of the reasons I believe these are police bayonets.

Hubertus, I do not own such nice and interesting byonets even close to what you show us here. Thank you for showing them to us in this thread. Now I do have a few I would like to add. First one from the firebrigade.

Long etched one also distributor stamped (Militärwarenhaus DÜRBECK Wien IX). Has EICKHORN mark on the other side. Have a short EICKHORN etched too but it is not distributor stamped and has the same etching so I will not show it here.

Great looking bayonets and fabulous variations from THE great manufacturer. Now with that said, can somebody explain why we dont see etched fireman KS98's. I have been waiting and wondering for quite a while to see one posted, surely not ALL fireman where paupers !. If there is a simple explanation, please put me out of my misery, Love the pioneer versions, only have 2 myself

Reds, Beautiful Eickhorn 3219 Etced dress bayonet. I also enjoyed seeing an excellent example of a pommel etch like the one shown above. They are sooo hard to find.
