I know that this isn't really the forum for docs but I posted a picture of my Kliengärtner doc with a badge the other day & thought that I show a couple of others.

Please forgive & add yours if you have any....

First the NS Altherrenbund.

Opfer-ring.

This one is interesting as I suspect that the owner was also a badge collector as there is only the initial stamp inside, just enough to get him the badge.

The badge is for the Sachsen Gau which matches the Ort.

Lastly the Stenografenschaft. I'm afraid that the colour burnt out a little here for some reason. The cover is a deep blue.

Great idea! I unfortunately have none to share so will sit back and enjoy. I long to tie items together in groupings but continue to get distracted.

Thanks lads.

Fritziii, it's not one of the more common ones but I wouldn't go as far as to say rare. There are other Steno' badges that are far rarer.

Don, would you consider, as time allows posting an informative thread on the Steno' badges? I for one and I am sure others would appreciate it.

I'll give it a go. Unfortunately I only have three badges, one members lapel & one members stickpin & a golden honour stickpin. All unmarked, I'm wondering if any were ever maker marked.

Once I track down some of the other Steno' badges out there I'll sort something out.

Cheers

Here's one I've been meaning to post for a while. Unfortunately most of the silvering has worn from the badge so it doesn't show up so well. I've been waiting for a nicer one to turn up but it hasn't so far.

Don, Nice set. Thanks.
I actually prefer the worn badges they seem much more convincing to me. I know wear can be reproduced but the difference between buffed and use worn can usually be detected.
I like Robert's 2nd. example on GMIC. Perhaps we could get him to swing bye and post it?

Congrats on a nice find. --dj--Joe

Nice to see you over here. I'm jealous of your NSDFBSt book, been looking for one for ages well done! What maker is the badge please?

This is an invitation & a membership badge for the "Associazione Italo Germanica di Cultura" (The German-Italian Culture Association). The Italian equivalent of the German "Deutsche-Italienische Kulturgesellschaft", an organisation whose remit was to promote closer relations between Germany & Italy through their love of art & culture etc

Sorry Joe I still haven't had the time to dig out some bits & photograph them.

In the meantime here are a couple of bits that I think that you have seen before on another forum. However due to the large size of the document (A3), if I were to place the pin on it to take a picture it would be too small to make out any details.

So here they are separately.

It's an "award" in recognition of the volunteers of the 1914/18 war. "Kameradschaft der Kriegsfreiwilligen von 1914/18" in the NS Reichskriegerbund. As you can see by the thickness of the stickpin, the badge is tiny which is why I didn't put it on the doc to photograph it. No marking on the reverse except for a silver mark.

Kriegs Freiwilliger rev a.jpg (10.62 KB, 107 downloads)

It just occurred to me that you can't really see the details on the Missinary items so here they are again.

Both of the pins have the dates 1483 & 1933 on the reverse with a Swaz between them. 1483 is the birth date of Martin Luther, a priest & professor of theology, who also wrote a great deal on anti semitism.

I've lightened the colour etc to the reverse of the larger pin to try & show the details....

I've not seen this before either. I was aware of a 1933 dated Luther Tag (tinnie), no swastikas and just a maker on the reverse.
Most interesting the way these pins are made with the reverse engraving. The rope border appears to be raised.
Thank you Don for sharing.

Thought I'd dust the camera off again, although I think I need a new one as I can't seem to get any decent results from it these days.

Here's the Deutshe Rechtsfront set, the document is oil cloth.

Thank you Gentlemen.

Dean,
The sole maufacturer of these were Klotz u. Kienast, & originals are always marked.

I've attached a shot of the mark. I also thought you'd like to see a shot of it alongside the much rarer honour pin.

Thanks a lot Don for that info and the additional pictures.
I didn't know the honor pin even existed.
These pins have a very cool look to them imo.
Would anyone happen to know the criteria for wearing these?

I'm glad that you like them Dean. The ordinary pin was a membership pin for the organisation. I suspect that the honour version was either for long membership or for service to the organisation.

Here's a 10 year service doc & badge for the company of Philipp Holzmann A.G. It also came in silver & gold for 15 & 20 years respectively.

Thanks Joe. Here are a couple of better images of the badge.

Another Holzmann item that is more common is their "Limes medal" issued for the building of the west wall... It's a Zinc piece so has lost most of it's finish, but the bronze wash can still be seen on the reverse where it has been protected by the case.

Here's something from an organisation that we do not know much about the "Reichsbund der deutschen Freilicht- und Volksschauspiele e.V." roughly translated as the Reich League of German Open-air and popular dramas.

I can't say 100% which, if either, of the pins shown belong to the Urkund however they do look nice together.

In 1936, Hitler authorized the NS Musterbetriebe comptetition amongst German factories and businesses to celebrate those who followed the DAF guidelines for worker's health, housing and education. Annual awards were presented each May Day follwing a yearlong competition with awards first appearing in 1938 and through most of the war years. For those competitors that satisfied the three guidelines, the award was the NS Musterbetriebe. The business could fly the DAF flag with the golden DAF wheel and show the iron award sign on their wall, while the business owner and DAF Business Obmann both were awarded numbered gold NS Musterbetriebe stick pins. The first pins were 333 gold which later disappeared. Here is one awarded plus the Besitzurkunde. This pin #679 was awarded to Betriebesobmann (Factory DAF Foreman) Heinrich Ohlenforst in 1941 for the accomplishment of his factory in the 1940/41 contest.
