Just to clear things up-the rarest Maker that we have absolute proof positive evidence of its existence is Bruno Heimbucher-a picture of it was shown in a Manion auction about 15 years ago. I have never seen a live dagger by this maker and would rate it the rarest KNOWN maker-Mike

Mike,

Who has a copy of the picture ?

I am wary of Manions. Before I gave up looking at their site a couple of years ago, I found many mistakes in descriptions and a good seasoning of what I thought were fakes.

The SA list that I am building does not include Heimbucher as a known maker. I'll probably put it with a few others as "Possible"

Yorkshireman!

There are no complete SA dagger references to be found and everyone is waiting for Wittmanns SA bible, so in the meantime you can try this one:

German daggers of the World War II
A photographic reference: Volume 2
(SA, Feldhernhalle, SS, NSKK, NPEA, RAD, Hitlerjugend)
By Thomas M. Johnson

This book is a Photographic reference filled with amazing pictures.
Not so much historical facts but an interesting reference anyway.
This volume contains 118 pages about SA"

It is very early -see the thread about Christmas daggers. I know of two others and have a photo of a third. This one makes four.
