Trying to do a bit of restoration to an old sharkskin grip...Tried shoe polish but not much good...Any suggestions...

Lou: I'd suggest you check around you area and try to locate a leathercrafter. They use dyes specifically made for leather which really work. These should work equally well on sharkskin. Jim

Hey Lou, on leather I use LEXOL, a leather conditioner and preservative. I get it from a hobby shop. LEXOL also has a leather cleaner, these work great to bring out the best in older leather. I don't know how or what it might do to sharkskin, you might want to check into that. And as jim suggested go for the leather die. If you can't find LEXOL in your area let me know and I will send you some.
