I posted the suggested changes quite a while ago and no one spoke up. The reason I left the names off is the Rick has been gone for 6 years and Bill passed away about 4 years ago.

I get emails asking me 1) who are these gents ? or 2) it OK to post my medals in that forum ? or 3) where do I post medals and badges ?

Dave I do remember reading a post with a commit made by someone , “like what’s up with all of the dead guys post still being displayed”, or something to that effect, well these dead guy’s were our friends and gave their help and knowledge to a lot of us. Bill Stump was one hell of a great guy, true enough either you loved him or disliked him, he called things the way he saw them, and I for one do miss him greatly, I know others don’t. And I think the forum page has medal & badges at the top of the web page, so I don’t understand why you have received that question so often. I don’t want to be misunderstood here, I’m not one of those cry babies that gets all ****ed off and says that they’re leaving and all of that crap, no one would care anyway ?, I just think dropping the names totally, and any post of members that have passed on ****s.

Thanks

JRS

I agree with Joe, an in honor in the subtitle would be nice and not take anything away.

I'm sorry now I didn't cast a vote on the suggestion that were raised but just saw them as that . . . suggestions not actions.

The inclusion of Rick Boyd and Bill Stumps names in the forum title not only showed a significant level of respect and recognition . . . it shows class!

It too affords one the opportunity to educate new and old collectors as to, not only the history of the objects we collect, but the history of the hobby and those who blazed a trail for many others to follow. I for one count myself fortunate to have had contact with Bill Stumps very, very early on in my collecting career and appreciate the time and efforts of these men to nurturing an appreciation of the history of collectibles for more than investment and financial gain.

I would love to see their names and the names of all who similarly encourage and foster our hobby with the same or a similar mind set to the vets who brought the stuff home, as trophies of honor for a sacrifice they hoped none of us would ever have to make! ~ Ian

Medals and Badges readers, please check out the Community Center topic on the passing of John Pepera and give your support and or suggestions on a testimonial forum for members who have passed on.
We were caught napping when this forum's in honor name was changed. Let's make sure our thoughts are in writing this time.

Gents,

Yes please, add my vote to honor John. One of the "greats" in my humble opinion.
