Heh Heh...here is my daily driver...perhaps you saw it in the backround?

A VW DTI diesel New Beetle! I got 46 MPG out of this little car and I like it a lot. The others rarely get driven, but this one goes out almost every day.

Just do it!
I know a guy that settled for an austin healy instead. As they say . "there's an ass for every seat."

Joe,
Only thing stopping me from getting the Cobra is Cash my friend. I figure I can get $22K for the TR - but the Superformance Cobra will run at least $55K outfitted correctly. Thought of selling off some of my collection - but just can't part with it. Austin Healey 100M would also float my boat - but they can top $100K these days in perfect condition.
Just read an article that said TR-6's will likely double in value over the next 2 years, so maybe if I hold out for a while longer I will be able to trade up a little easier.

BTW, My first car was a 72 Gran Torino Wagon in Yellow - 351 Windsor ( We all called it the Banana Boat in High School )- Great car for hauling all my freinds around in. Torino Cobra would have been better for getting the Girls though...
Scott

Best Regards,
Scott R.

Although I didn't own this car, I did drive it for a short while. It was owned by a SCCA club racer from Miami and my partner and I scrounged up enough sponsorship money to race it in the 1977 Sebring 12 Hour Endurance Race. We started in the middle of the pack in a field of Porsches,Ferraris and Corvettes. At the end of 12 hours we finished 11th overall. The only cars ahead of us were Porsches, several with factory sponsorship. Not bad for a bunch of south Fla. SCCA club racers..LOL
The car fell into bad shape but was later restored and raced in vintage races and is now owned by a Camaro restoration parts company. As a neat footnote, Scalextric, a slot car manufactuer is making a model of the car for their vintage line.

The first car I ever owned was a 1973 Buick Regal...350ci...4bbl....(I had to borrow these pics from the interweb)This one was the exact "Chestnut Brown" with the executive vinyl roof...one hot beast...had trouble keeping the rubber on it...

My second car was even scarier....1976 Ford Grand Torino...I know...its the Starsky and Hutch car...It had the 460 4bbl Police Package too...had to sell it after two years when my licence was suspended for all the speeding tickets I racked up...it was the hottest car I ever owned...and cost me the most overall...I mellowed a lot after that experience...Oh to be young and reckless again!

Newest addition...'41 Chevy with a 350 crate motor and 350 auto trans, A/C, P/S, dual exhaust and totally redone inside and out. The only give away that it is built is the wheels and tires..OK the exhaust tips too!

I gotta sell one of these cars...too many and no room.

Hi Rick, that is the A/C compressor you are looking at in the engine picture. Also you can see the outlet vents under the dash. This car will freeze you out..aluminum radiator and two electric fans set at 180 degrees in front of it. Four season cruiser!

Thats the way to go Mark!! Pure class!

You'll need that turbo conversion soon for the propane or Bio-Disel the way things have been going with gas..

*hey, you need a couple violin cases with tommy guns in them to keep in the trunk!

Cool. Smile

Gotta love these classics from the fifties.

The `57 Belvedere reminds me of "Chrisine" by Steven King.

My dreamcar is the `57 Chevy Belair and I was so fortunate to get to drive one a few years ago.

Could`nt sleep for days after........... Red Face

Just returned from the Labor Day weekend classic car auction in Auburn, Indiana and here is the car that caught my eye. A cute little Crosley pickup truck.

How many remember this version of air conditioning? My father had one on his 1938 Pontiac. The auto makers were very safety concious even then. This fan has rubber blades so it will only mangle your fingers - not amputate them.
This picture was of a 1939 Cadillac.
