I know there are alot of Alum 1st Mod.s around, but what I like about this one, besides being really cherry, is the grip and scab. are wrapped in a dark blue canvas material rather than leather Hadn't heard of such a variation until I saw it on LST's site. Now to save up for that early Mod. 1st Luft. Sorry pic.s aren't better, but my ole 35mm is half as old at the dagger.

Hey, thanks guys. To tell the truth, use to not be that crasy bout'em myself but they kinda grew on me, especially after holding one in hand. Now plan on getting several varations. I'm assuming that the material on grip and scab. were a cost saving effort as these alum. were made late in the war.

there really are no variations among makers. to quote Wittmann "There is no reason to illustrate the fittings or scabbards used by each and every maker, since they are nearly identical to the eye, they preclude practical identifiable differences".

I was referring to variations in materials, such as early nickle with leather grip, another alum. with leather and of course, one posted. Sometimes I collect just for the different MMs.
