A few years ago I purchased my one and only bayonet from Bill Shea.

Sorry I can't provide pics but maybe I can describe it well enough.

It is marked Jos. Corts Sn on the blade as is the scabbard which is dated 1938. The blade and scabbard serial numbers match (XX39 f). The blade also has 38 stamped on the top edge of the blade near the hilt. I see two waffenamts on the hilt and one on the release button. One waffenampt on the scabbard ball. The unbuggered screw slots on the handle are both pointing north and south. The tension screw on the scabbard appears unturned

The grips are a pristine dark brown or maybe black bakelite.

Bluing is more than excellent. No sharpening to the blade.

The excellent black frog is marked ???? Seidel, Berlin W57 1940. Unfortunately someone made a tear in the front of the frog from the scabbard holder to the edge when they removed the scabbard.

I would really appreciate if you would comment on this item particularly it's value as I would like to be able to sell it at a fair price.

Thanks,

Rod

Hello, Your bayonet is nice Josua Corts und Sohn produced, the grips could be wood or dark plastik depends on exact serial number, WaA253 under down wings eagles on pommel, it should be assembly numbered on inner side of grips, but when the screws are tight dont remove it better.Corectly stamped frog is attached. The prices are from 75 bucks and more.Look to Ebay for prices. best regards,Andy
