This is a civic "square-dip" helmet...the type most often used by the fire-police services. This is a fairly early example with the swaz and tri-colour decals and the aluminum "comb" on top of the helmet. You can see the leather tabs affixed to the liner which would have secured a leather neck-protector flap for hot embers and cinders. It was commercially produced and has the patent trademark (DRP - Deutsche Reichs Patent) and the industrial region of THALE stamped into the metal.

Many thanks for the information guys, not the best example but it displays well with the large swas. I take it this would have been July 1934 - 36 with this decal arrangement, has anybody seen an example with the smaller swastika?. Regards
