I have a near mint Social Welfare Officer dagger with a broken langet. I would like to replace the crossguard. Does anyone know of a good site where I might find a replacement crossguard?

Thanks

You might want to check Tom Johnson at johnsonreferencebooks.com He has a lot of parts for different daggers.

Thanks for the tip. I checked out his site. He sure has LOTS of parts, but no crossguard. I saw he has a scabbard for $420! Makes me think maybe I should sell the Social Welfare for parts if I cant find a crossguard. Hummm.

Red Cross/Social Welfare Crossguards have never been found as lef-overs in Germany since the war.
This part is considered to be the rarest dagger part for the market today and those that have been offered in the past are results of parting out an original RC or SW Dagger that was damaged in some other way.
Tom Johnson has said for years that the Solingen old factory employee who comes up with a box of these crossguards will be the most hasselled man in Solingen.

i have ,or should i say had, a spare cross guard
bought it at a show got home late left it on the window sill in the sitting room woke up late the next day my wife had cleaned the sitting room and put the cross guard "safe" that was a year ago i still have`nt found it
the worst one was being given a ss collar tab at an antique fair after buying a genuine early rolex sub off a dealer for £20 yes $40 he had cleared a house and assumed the dirty scratched old sub was a copy anyway he gave me the tab ,not knowing what it was, as i had bought the watch got home went to bed for a few hours when i got up my shirt was not hanging on the back of the door my wife had washed it with the tab in the pocket
my wife said both of these tragedies were my fault!
