Hi guys I have posted a lazy man ground Rohm dagger in the classifieds. There is much of the bottom and top of the inscription remaining. How rare is an SMF Rohm dagger, partial of full? Thanks and cheers Ryan

I would say SMF is probably one of the rarest? Has anyone compared the position of the SMF Rohm maker mark to the non Rohm?

Agreed, SMF is exreemely rare in my experience. If the seller had posted pics. of the dagger in the original thread I probably would have sold my left NUT for that knife. Thank God he did not... or maybe not... anyway: Personally (and this is just me speaking) I think that it is VERY unethical to post a "For Sale" ad wihout pictures. Everyone on this forum knows: "YOU CAN'T TELL SH-T WITHOUT PICTURES." Hey I could be selling my "full Rohm" dagger with NO pics. anyone want to bid??? I guess I will just have to chalk this up to one more opportunity...... missed

Hi You know what I won't be baited into a confrontation....I am a very ethical person and am true to my word. I know that crappy pics sell nothing on this forum and do not maximize a sale, Everyone here has shown the importance of good quality pics again and again. Once more I have access to a cell phone camera and a crappy Kodak digital. If there is anyone that would like those pics feel free to email me and I will gladly send them. The dagger has not been sold even though I have been informed that I am offerring it low. I am merely waiting the lending of a good quality camera...sorry that you specifically are unhappy and conspiracy minded...nothing sinister here...apology accepted cheers, Ryan

While I'd have waited until I had quality photos before placing the dagger on the For Sale Forum, I see no unethical or even questionable action here.
I've read several of your postings and am confident your description of the dagger is spot on.

Thanks for the comments...I have read the For Sale "rules" and can state that I have broken none...in fact I am allowed to set a price and also to accept Best Offer. I merely placed the add as I was excited to have obtained the dagger,I received many offers and also some well intentioned advice that I was offerring the dagger at a low value due to its rarity. I am very familiar with daggers but have never been an SA or Rohm type collector so I was not aware that SMF was an extremely rare Rohm maker and extremely desireable in almost any condition. I did know that they were not a prolific maker of SA daggers. I merely wanted to post in order to obtain some info on the rarity of the dagger that I was offerring to forum members. This is not the first time that I have sold a dagger to forum members at below market value. Oh, and Johnny V you can keep your LEFT NUT!

OK OK, I re-read my post and I think I worded things... badly. All I am saying is it does not make much sense to post without pics. because all your going to get is 10,000 e-mails asking for them and nothing moves forward without them anyway. As for "unethical" I was really referring to the "fishing" threads and e-mail we all resieve from scammers. No pics. is always a red flag. I was NOT trying to say that yan was doing anything unethical. apology extended, Johnny

Earth to Ryan... earth to Ryan... you can buy a fantastic digital camera for less than $150, which is $700 less than you want for your fire-sale SMF lazy man ground Rohm dagger. And you can't afford one?

Ryan, Ha! Like you have to ask. Good luck w/ the sale (but I don't think you'll need it). Just let me know when you have another Rohm SMF for sale, OK?
