Hi guys I have recently acquired and officer group that belongs to an artillery officer. While lookig through his album I noticed that the troops that he was reviewing appeared to be GD (GD on boards). In another photo showing graves all of the grave markers are marked GrossDeutschland. The officer is clearly an artillery officer in the pictures, as is my tunic. The book shows many pics of field artillery. Would this officer been attached to the GD with an artillery battery. Would they have been artillery that supported the GD. Although the men in some of the pics clarly have GD cyphers none have cufftitles. Any comments would be welcome. Thanks and cheers, Ryan

The 1944 order of battle shows the composition of the division to include an Artillery Rgt. Grossdeutschland along with a Pz, Gr.,& Fus. Rgt. Also had a Pi., Pz.Jag.,Pz.,Aufkl. & Nachr. Abt.

Thanks for that info Barry. Does anyone know if the artillery would have had GD cyphers and/or cufftitles? My tunic has neither cyphers nor cufftitle and none are evident on the officer in the pictures. Thanks for any help, cheers, Ryan
