I was sorting out some hangers and came upon these. I had not noticed that the fittings were gold plated. I have attached the scan of the backs where the plating is pretty much 100%. This is not lacquer that has turned yellow. In addition, the backs are a canvas like material.
I will post the back first.
The upper fitting is DRGM marked at the top.

Well--I have never seen the canvas backs before-but they look OK--IF they are sewed near the buckles. If you try some lacquer thinner on the gold and it does not come off-indicating the fittings are really plated-I would say you have a pair of unusual late Heer General Officer hangers.

Thanks Houston,
I will set up my camera and get some close ups. My observation is that it all looks properly the same age. But I will take details and repost.

Here are additional photos centering on the sewing, and the fittings themselve. The gold holds up well with the laquer thiner. In most cases the thinner clened off gunk and brought out more gold hew.
The cloth/canvas backings are the same green color as the felt backings.
Please let me know if you see any flags.

The only thing that comes to mind is a field fix with the original backing replaced.

Probable late war General Officer. The backs on hangers are not always typical.
