If I'm not mistaken,didn't he have a dagger with both a SA and a SS roundel in the grip?Has this dagger ever surfaced?Is it in a collection,or is it lost?

Rich, A story I heard was that Goring was seen leaving Rohm's residence with the dagger.
To my understanding it has not been seen since.

Is it possible that I saw a dagger pictured in one of the books just like you describe ?

It is pictured on page 27 of Atwood's The Daggers and Edged Weapons of Hitler's Germany, on page 134 of Angolia's Edged Weaponry of the Third Reich, on page 29 of Stephen's Edged Weapons of the Third Reich, and I seem to recall it is also pictured in at least one other reference, perhaps by TM Johnson. ~ Ian

Maybe Matthias Fritz has it...

I have seen at least one picture of it, but resolution was not great. It had a unique hanger and what seemed like vertical striations on the scabbard shell. It also migh have been longer than normal, but the pic was not that good.
