This is the throat of a Heller NSFK that arrived today.
I believe it to be a school marked piece. Anyone seen the mark to the far left before....

I picked up a Heller at the MAX last year with the very same markings. I posted pics. here asking the same question you are but recieved no info.
I recall Whittmann mentions the marking you refer to in his Luft book in the DVL, NSFK section, I don't really recall what he said it was (book is not with me I'll check tonight) but look there first and hopefully someone here will also give another opinion.

Oh, also. On my dagger the stamp has a "B" and then the # 84. Is yours the same #???

One last thing,
The marking in question also appears on my dagger on the crossguard beneath the "K" stamp (see pics.)
Does your have this as well??

Interesting Johnny.
I just rechecked my reference and indeed it's there. Whittmann calls it an ordinance marking, mine is not marked on the dagger quillion. It is also interesting that yours is a Heller and school marked too. Bet they were twins issued very close together! Thanks for the link!

Just got a response from Whittmann concerning this question and it appears that (to his knowldge) this mark has not been identified. Guess it is up to us to solve the mystery! Wink
