I am a little out of touch with valuations but remember the last one I saw on EBAY went for $1000 +. Is it Wilkinson marked? and what about condition, the 1st pattern is highly sought and rarely encountered nowadays as most have been snapped up. I for one would like to see pictures, Nice find....regards

Thats a nice one Grip, original Wilkinson re-curved 1st pattern, 1st style and from what I have been told there where only 1250 of these made, in this condition and to the right person....easily $1000 +. Does it bear the broad arrow / crows foot, im jealous, ive always wanted one1.

first patterns should never have /I\ markings sometimes you get a store issue number stamped into the grip wilkinson made a lot more then 1200 ,the thinking now is 1200 was the first order, infact you could still buy 1st patterns way into the 80`s which are identical to the war time issued ones some 2nd patterns are a lot rarer then 1st`s

Thanks guys,no Degens,it has no other markings than described. There is a pattern before this one,a knife with a larger S shaped crossguard, that was used in only one operation and was found clumbsy due to the 3.5 inch(i believe)crossguard, and recalled. The Wilkinsin factory museum had two on show, both I believe were aquired by Regmentals of the UK.I will try to find a reference to post.Grip
