hi all well this is my m43 from a overseas online dealer this m43 is a Polizei field cap ,two button version made from standard police-green wool the two small pebbled buttons are metal painted gray and have "rss" stamped on the backs. the Polizei patch is a Em grade BEVO and is machine sewn but not through lining the patch is settled into the wool and if removed would leave a impression, it is also lined in Grey drill cloth and is unmarked it has a small whole and a small amount of moth tracking but is in very good condition,i am quite happy with this cap

thanks it took a long time for the money and the cap to be around at the same time.
some people have suggested that because of its condition it must be a repo others have said don't worry bout them its the real thing, besides the dealer is respected and dose not sell repos
thanks again dread

Just to change the subject and add to Dave's comment.... Always ask for a bill of sale with the item stating it is pre 1945 and the guarantee in written on the bill of sale....

All good and valid coments. I see no red flags with this Einheitsmütze from what I can see in the photographs. Condition has nothing to do with originality and each object must be evaluated on its own merits. Congratulations on a nice cap! George

thanks guys i agree that you have to buy the item, not the dealer (thanks Colorado for that advice)the cap is from peter v Lucas and has a lifetime garentee as for condition a friend of mine pointed out the other day "any cap/ uniform from WW2 has obviously been stored somewhere by a collector so why must they have excessive wear marks maybe mothing etc" (have seen a 100% original field cap found in a barn yea its real alright, but its just a pile of wool parts and looks like crap ) anyway thanks again dread
good luck

Your cap looks very nice, I like it. Although I don't believe authenticity can really be judged over the internet, and only with hands on inspection. Your cap is well constructed and is correct shade of police-green, w/original insignia. Not much wear, but isnt that desired? Looks to have age though. Very attractive.
