Hi to all! Please help to recognize this one as a postwar made gravity knife or not, I had seen original ones with Baklite grips but never see before this piece protruding to the left of the 'crossguard'. The Eickhorn original mark makes me doubt...did Eickhorn use this trademark postwar for the DDR or the Bundeswehr? Maybe a repro? any opinion wellcome and sorry for the bad quality photo, regards

Original Eickhorn made Bundeswehr para gravity knife. And yes, Eickhorn is still in business with the same squirrel trademark. Here's Eickhorn website.

Hi, Walter ! I do not agree ... In the Bundeswehr officially only two pattern´s of gravity-knive´s were used. First: The 1956 Pattern Second: The 1963 Pattern The knife, shown here in this thread, actionally is made by Eickhorn, but in "Army-use" in the BW were only the two Model´s, I mentioned. Eickhorn produced the "LL 80", and the "AES 81", (Anette Eickhorn, Solingen). Both knive´s are lookin´ similar and one of the grip-plates is marked like that. The official-worn gravity-knife of the Bundeswehr was maker-marked on the blade and one of the grip-plates is marked with "BUND" I´ve read, the "Eickhorn LL 80" was in use, (together with the GDR cord-cutter knife), in the Austrian "Jagdkommando", (The "Snake-Eater´s"). Hi ! Again, I only know ´bout Gravity knive´s in "official" use in the Bundeswehr, showing the BW-mark. I do have four BW gravity-knive´s, marked in three different way´s on one of the grip-plates. Also note the size of the "AES 81" ... Cheers, R. 2.JPG (51.12 KB, 69 downloads)

Hi Sean !
Lately I´m interested in fighting knive´s, ("Boot-knive´s").
I bought, (and swapped), this Bundeswehr gravity-knive´s a couple of years ago only BTW ...
Nonetheless I like them ...
