cheap made fantasies. Here in germany are a lot of them around. Most come from poland

f..k them. I`m getting my money back. That was an auction house and I had no chance to verify nothing about those rings. They looked old.
What do you think if i do a credit card chargeback ? If that wouldn`t work i can take them to small claim court as they used words "Third Reich Memorabilia", "German Militaria", "German SS skull ring", "German SS Ring"

thanks

If it was at an auction they usually have a disclaimer. What country did you but them in?

out of curiosity, whould you mind telling us what you paid for them? I'm curiouis to know if the auction was held here in the US or elsewhere. I fear Legion is probably correct regarding the disclaimer. Depending on how deep the cost was, it may be worth it to just call it a wash...then again, if they took 'ya for quite a bit of $$, it may be worth fighting.

Hi aukasa,

Sorry to hear about your rings. All auction houses have some sort of a return policy. If, for example, an auction house sells you a Picasso painting and you later find out that it's a forgery, then you can get your money back. However, this is easier said than done since the auction house has already taken your money and given it, less commission, to the previous owner (consignor) of the painting. So they are in the driver's seat and it will be difficult if not impossible to get any refund from them. You will probably be required to show proof from an expert or two that the rings are a fake, but this is no guarantee that they will agree with your expert(s).

Also, the auction house might hide behind their catalog description of the rings. They may have worded it ambiguously to their advantage. Then you have the challenge of successfully arguing over the wording they used.

In the meantime, if the auction is less than 30 days old, immediately contact your creditcard company to dispute the charge by the auction house. Also, the earler you contact the auction house the better it is for you and then perhaps they will postpone paying the consignor.

Good luck.

Some good suggestions here....

Get to that dealer/auction house as fast as you can and tell them your not happy with them and want your money back.
If no luck with them and IF you bought them with your card,,, the absolute best thing to do [if your here in the states] is to call them immediately and have them stop the charge and if its been a while tell them the pieces are fake and you've been the victim of fraud.
Get that cash back!!
