On the back of the helmet, top left, it appears a smaller caliber bullet hit the shell flat on/sideways at subsonic speeds..you can see the outline of the projectile.

Whether or not this happened in combat, or after in attempts to tart up the helmet for the homefront, we will never know!!

IMO a fair market value would be around $5,500.00; some dealers may charge more, someone needing money RIGHT NOW may take less. but I think that's a good 'average.'
