Thanks! It's a great cap and looks pretty good with my others. This is the toughest SA cap I have so far, and hopefully will add some more in the future, actuall this is the first marine SA one I've ever seen except in pictures.

Thanks for the comments! My SA hat collection is growing pretty well, SA caps are much harder to find than any other cap/hat of the TR period IMO escpecially the early ones. any other marine SA examples out there?

MUCH tougher than the sam peaked cap and a good deal scarcer than the sa-wehrmannschaft o'seas, I think....

an almost never seen rarity. congrats.

Many such hats were lost to clothing drives enforced on the civilian population by a leadership desperate to clothe and equip their forces in the field.

Many a political item ended up re manufactured, re-cut, re-dyed, altered, modified, pulped for wool etc..
