Hi gents ...been busy at work for the past 3 weeks so , I have not been around much.
Nice to be back Big Grin
Anyway ..about a week ago my neighbor stopped me and said --
" Remember that "natsi dagger" I told you about last year ?"
(I forgot about it)
Well , he handed it to me and asked what it's worth. I offered him $500 and now own it.
It would have been great if I could have bought it for $100 but , I think those days are over.
It's matching ..

Great find Mike. These, like most nice 3rd reich items, have really gone up in price in the past few years. BTW: I'm not familiar with that maker. Perhaps he was a distributor?

Hi Mike - nice catch!

Jim - Ewald Cleff Waffenfabrik, Solingen (RZM M7/93) was definately a manufacturer.

Thanks guys ...I thought the same thing as Jim at first since I never ran into this maker...is it a hard to find MM ?
It was a good thing I offered him the $500 because he had researched it on the Web and thought it was worth $1,200 ...then I explained that he must have been looking at a Clamshell example that's worth more ...that struck a bell with him ..and he agreed and happily took the $500 (that was close)

Thanks Denny:
I'm sure you must be right. However, I don't see him listed as a maker in the reference section here. Any which way Mike; you've certainly got a rare example there. Cool

Mike,

Cleff marked pieces are not common. Great frog too! Although you didn't steal it, I think considering the maker & condition as well as the frog, you did well. I should have neighbors like you Smile

Mike, please take a look at my thread
http://daggers.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/172097573/...070050325#5070050325
and let me know what you think.
Your mark is also prefixed by an S. but with a brown scabbard. Thoughts?
