I have a couple bayonets here...
1. a short stag-grip dress bayonet marked I.C. Kollmann in an ark over Quackenbruck.
I've tried to look-up in books, and searched forums here but turned up nothing so far...anyone know about this bayonet?
2. a Police WKC-Wersberg with the number (381) on the spine of the blade. Does anyone know of the significance of the number?

Many thanks for any feeback...

The short stag grip dress bayonet marking sounds like a distributor marking, although not one I recall seeing before. Any chance for some pictures?

Hi,

I agree with Denny that it sounds like the stag bayonet has a blade marked by a distributor. I haven't heard of this one previously either, which isn't a bad thing as there's previously unobserved names popping up all the time. I'd love to see a picture or two if you can.

The Polizei marking sounds like an inventory number. Does the same number appear anywhere else on the bayonet or scabbard fittings?

Hi,
Is the spelling for the city correct?
There is a town in NW Germany by the name of Quakenbrk with a population of 12.5k.

That's it.
Improving on my photo tech here, catching on as I go...you think?
Hope these shots give enough info, I can't find this one anywhere...maybe it's not TR at all...?
Oddball in the mix. Maybe Quakenbrck is in Wisconsin or something, LOL.
Any info/idea greataly appreciated!!

Oh, the POLICE bayo...I haven't taken shots. It's a WKC-"Weyersberg" (see I spelt it wrong) long dress, nothing exraordinary, but it has (381) stamped along the spine within an inch of the crossguard, and he had made note of it and assigned a higher value on list..just thought it might jump-out as a unit, or the location it is stamped...the reason a stamp/number is placed in that spot...?
Anyway, thanks for any/all feedback!!!

So then I misspell it also. Confused
Should read: "There is a town in NW Germany by the name of Quakenbrck with a population of 12.5k".

Ah I see, the slight offness of the internet at work here. Thanks for finding the town Denny!

Beautiful bayo. I would also say it's a distributors mark. The leather looks to be brown so I'd say it was a Luftwaffe bayo. Again a beauty, thanks for showing it.
To type letters with the umlots, hold the "Alt" key next to the space bar and at the same time type the numbers on the right side of the keyboard and not the ones on top.
 is 132
 is 148
 is 129
 is 142
 is 154
That's all I have at the moment.

Looks like a new distributor to me. If you get a chance post a picture of the number on the spine. Is the spine of the blade flat or curved??

The number could be a inventory number, they are usually found on the blade ricasso or crossguard. Looks like a very nice bayonet.

If it needs a new home let me know.

There was a large airbase at Quakenbruck, here is an old post regarding a personalised stag bayonet that I have, unfortunately the pictures are now obsolete but this distributor was obviously supplying the personal stationed here.
Quakenbruck .
