This dagger has absolutely no patina or any wear in the expected high areas. Just does not look like it has any age to it for a hundred year old piece....Jerry Burney

Not to put too much of a dampner on this thread, is this the right forum for this thread, the sword thread on this forum seems out of place as well.

This Eickhorn model has been out in Europe for nearly 2 years. Also keep a sharp eye on Clemen and Jung and now Alcoso Imperial blades.

Strange-these things seem to take a long time to get to the US.

Tom, I like it too. I bought one to use when I pull North Carolina style pork barbeque. Looks kind of elegant on the serving tray. The plastic handle on the one's I say in Europe in early 2006 would not fool anybody. The short crossguard arms do seem to call out, but they are historically correct on a few early Imperial patterns. Over the years handles will get changed and the brass will age. You must learn to understand the numbering system the Imperial producers and assemblers used. They did not just use numbers but other types of marks as well. You also must learn the fonts of markings used. Learn a few basic facts and you will be hard to fool when it comes to Imperial navy pieces.

I took the time to report this auction to Ebay. Hope it does some good. lol It makes me sick to see people spend their money on this stuff. I would like to start on this site an area were we can all have a chance to review new items that come up for sale on the internet. I think we would all benifit from each of our areas of strength. The fakes are getting better and better and they only hurt our hobby. Please take the time and report the fakes out their. If you are interested in starting the group I mentioned please let me know...thanks and happy hunting
