I have just been offered this Klass for GBPounds 1200. Is that a good price - seems a bit pricy to me - and are there any red flags that you can see?

Most obvious for me is that the scabbard appears to be brown? Is it possible that all of the paint has gone to leave a brown rust covering? or is it the wrong scabbard?

Scabbard is a nice tight fit

That's about $1800 US ...... The piece wouldn't be worth it to me. But to each his own ....

Crossguard round the wrong way, and not the type of dome shaped runes that is "typical" on a Klass.

I agree it's a bit overpriced. Could be cleaned up a bit, but it woould add little to the value. I think the scabbard is ok. Looks like rust patina, but a closer examination is needed to be sure.

Cross guard the wrong way round. I had just taken it to bits and realised after I took the photos that I put it back the wrong way round. I dont think it had been taken to bits for many years, if ever. Found and S on the inside of the cross guards underheath lots of verdigries.

I think you could do better than this one for £1200. Overpriced, even for the UK.

I would certainly, without any hesitation turn away from that blade. Nine hundred dollars is about what it is worth in that rough condition. Just my opinion.
