Greetings,
I am interested in learning some background info on the firm of Georg Rieder (Munich), and any information is thankfully accepted.

Essentially what I'd like to know is whether this firm did actually manufactured materials, or served entirely as a distributor of products from manufacturers.

What did they manufacture or distribute.

How large was this company.

I have tried various searches with positive hits typically discussing a product distributed by them (no history/info on the firm).
Thanks again in advance for any kind assistance.
Don

Hello Don,

Sorry I can't shed any light on the Georg Rieder firm other than the fact that they were distributors of the Fireman's bayonet. Should you find further info, please share it with us. Thanks....

Hi Denny,
Thank you for the reply, I'm continuing to research them and will post what I find.

I have a Luftschutz helmet marked to Georg Rieder, Munchen (decal) and am researching whether it may be a helmet procured by GR for their own internal werkluftschutz use, or was simply a helmet distributed by GR acting as a vendor. GR is not listed on the KN listing of known approved distributors of LS helmets. An interesting part of this is that the helmet itself was sourced from the firm of Paul Diener (Dresden) as denoted by the stamped KN (RL 2-38/28). Paul Diener was an approved distributor of LS helmets. Now it's trying to tie the two connections together to ID the GR role in the helmet's history.

Thanks again,
Don
