I have not contibuted much at all for a while.
I am sorry about that.
Lots of distractions.
Here is a very nice camo.

Notice the field repaired CS bail, its a net hook and the early brass rivets.
I am sure the liner is unit marked but it is too stiff to look. Maybe you Dentist's could get out a mirror.

What would the material be to the best of your knowledge on the exterior? Is it a sand, cement or other. It all flows pretty nice.

I would say its sand mixed with the paint.
I have owned several helmets and handled numerous ones that had this exact type of camo applied to them.
