I recently have been talking with a friend and we were both reflecting on helmets that have passed through our hands. Many were bought for the collection. Some were dug out of the woodwork - still others were bought to re-sell.

Of the hundreds and hundreds of helmets I've been fortunate enough to own, I lament over two of them. They are the ones "I wish I hadn't of sold". Perhaps other forum members have had a similar experience. I'm sure other forum members are the lucky owners of those helmets parted with.

I'd love to hear similar stories....

A WA forum member owns this M42 wire that I dug out of the woodwork. It was just a fantastic helmet. My original photos have bit the dust in a computer SNAFU - but here it is in Volume I of Combat Helmets of the Third Reich.

The other is one more recently acquired and foolishly (AARRGGHHH) sold for money for the SOS. It's an M35 SD Heer Tropical with the bird painted around. This is a cool helmet.... What was I thinking???

Shortly after agreeing to sell this KM helmet, a distinct bit of seller's remorse(if not outright regret) was experienced, however, one month later, the buyer needed cash and sold it back. Smile
