Nice knife... Looks like the blade and fittings may have been polished up a bit (never good) but all in all a nice original knife. Congrats. Johnny

Johnny V- I've not actually purchased it yet, but considering. Would you put this in your collection for $800? Hows the rarity of the maker?

At $800 it is at the highest end of the scale for that condition and that maker. I would put it more in the $650.00 or so range. From my experience in buying and selling SA daggers....condition is everything. That one is just OK, not desireable at all unless you simply must have that maker. I have been there and never, ever won at resale time when I bought them buffed like that. Just my opinion. Mark

I would not put a "buffed" dagger in my collection. Many sellers buff/clean them and then call them "near mint" or "excellent plus". However seasonded collectors avoid them at all costs. I concur with Marks statement. Find one with "original" patina in unmessed with condition. Pay a $1,000 or more for one with a "un-semichromed" blade, and you'll be a lot better off in the long run IMO. Condition is everything. That being ORIGINAL "unimproved" condition. -serge-
